Nominations are now open for the Cardiff Guild’s first elections and we want every guild to have a strong party of candidates stepping forward. If you’ve ever fancied a bigger role in shaping how your guild runs, now is the time!
Each guild elects a Guild Council of three:
- a Guildmaster, who looks after finances and day-to-day operations
- a Games Warden, who manages the games schedule and looks after guild stock and equipment
- a Player Envoy, who’s there for member welfare and any concerns members want to raise.
All three roles matter and all three are open.
Putting yourself forward is straightforward. Head to your guild page while nominations are open and you’ll find a simple declaration form where you can list which position (or positions!) you’d like to stand for, in order of preference.
If you’re eligible for more than one role, you can rank your choices, so if you win more than one position, you’ll take your top preference and runners-up can be appointed to the rest.
Voting will follow once nominations close and every eligible member of the guild will have the chance to have their say. The whole process, from nominations opening to the new council taking up their roles, runs over about five weeks, so there’s plenty of time to think it over, but not so long that it drags on.
